Alice Cook

Physiotherapist

The youngest of four, I grew up on a small property in rural Victoria where I developed an appreciation of the outdoors and country lifestyle. I travelled interstate to undertake a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at James Cook University in Townsville, which I completed in 2014. Since then, I have worked in several different positions in various locations around Australia and completed further training including the Watson Headache Method, neuroimmune mobilisation, dry needling, acupuncture and tendinopathy management along with other courses for specific joint dysfunction and treatment.

Over the years, I myself have enjoyed participating in a variety of sports from gymnastics to touch football and am familiar with the frustrations surrounding sporting injuries. I have a particular interest in hip dysfunction, having myself had to undergo surgery and then participate in the long haul of rehabilitation that follows.

For me, physiotherapy is a way in which to provide holistic and individually tailored management of pain and injury. It is my hope that my skills as a physiotherapist will assist you in maintaining healthy and active lifestyles that allow you to strive for your best quality of life.

Physiotherapist

I grew up in far North Queensland on a cattle station near Mt Garnet. I gained my Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy from James Cook University and came to Atherton for work in 2016. I have always been passionate about using my skills to improve the health of the people living in regional areas and the services available to them. I became a part of Healthwise Physio in 2018 which has been a great opportunity to work with a very like minded team to offer the best physiotherapy service we can to our local community.

My special professional interests are treating vestibular conditions (vertigo and dizziness) and headaches, I have completed a great deal of postgraduate training in these areas. I have also completed postgraduate training in spinal conditions and rehabilitation, I have had my own battles with lower back pain and understand the frustration that this can cause when it affects our work and daily life. I hope to be able to use my experiences and skills to help you get the most out of your body and life.

Outside of work, I like to spend my spare time with my family, we love to get outside with our dogs, going camping, swimming and hiking.

Physiotherapist

As a born and bred Tablelander, I loved growing up alongside my four brothers on a farm located near Ravenshoe.

I graduated from James Cook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and returned to the beautiful Tablelands in 2016 with my Husband to be closer to family and the country lifestyle. I have always been an outdoors/active person and love to water ski and play touch footy.

I have always been passionate about physiotherapy and genuinely care about you and your injury.
Over the years, I have developed an approach for treating musculoskeletal injuries through hands on treatment and retraining correct movement patterns. I also have a special interest in treating women’s health conditions and shoulders/lower backs.

Physiotherapist

I graduated a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree with first class honours degree from Central Queensland University in 2019. I have made the big move up from Bundaberg and am extremely excited to be continuing my career up here in the beautiful far north.

I have a special interest in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation. Growing up in Bundaberg, I enjoyed the life of a farm kid surrounded by plenty of dogs, horses, cattle and avocados. I have also enjoyed my fair share of sports and have had my fair share of injuries as well. I look forward to seeing you in clinic.
